Fine Arts Music – Performance and Scholarship (FAM – PS), offers scholarships in Ayse Celasun’s three home countries. In her birth place of Turkey, in her adopted homeland of France and in her newest outpost, Chicago.
Turkish Universities Classical Western Music Scholarship is awarded annually to a young woman studying western classical music in Turkey. The scholarship is administered through partnership with Cagdas Yasami Destekleme Dernegi (Association for the Support of Contemporary Living) a non-governmental Turkish organization that helps girls obtain an education and ultimately promotes gender equality.
This merit-based scholarship is awarded to a young woman studying western classical music in a Turkish University and whose grades at the end of the first year of university are at least a 4 (or B). This young woman receives annually $900 from Fine Arts Music – Performance and Scholarship.
The French Emerging Talent Music Scholarship is an annual award for an all-expenses paid trip to Chicago with weeklong accommodations as well as an opportunity to perform a concert at Chicago’s Fine Arts Building. The concert is the centerpiece of an annual event sponsored by Chicago’s French community.
This scholarship is given to a young woman currently enrolled as a student at one of the Conservatories of the Communauté d’Agglomération de la Plaine centrale du Val-de-Marne/Grand Paris Sud Est Avenir/Territoire 11, France. The student must also be enrolled in the DEM (Diplôme d’Études Musicales) to be eligible.
The Chicago Area Youth Music Scholarship is a year-round program in which Fine Arts Music – Performance and Scholarship offers private piano lessons to children and teens in the Chicago area. FAM-PS plans to expand this scholarship to provide lessons for a variety of instruments.
We produce a monthly concert series that features both professional and accomplished amateur musicians. The minimum suggested donation for these events is $10 and all proceeds go towards funding our scholarships.
